According to his agent, James McCaffrey, who acted in television series including Rescue Me and provided the voice of Max Payne in the well-known video game franchise, has passed away. He was sixty-five. David Elliot, McCaffrey’s talent representative, revealed on Monday that the New York native passed away on Sunday in the company of his loved ones.
After a fight with myeloma, a malignancy that affects white blood cells, he passed away at home in Larchmont, a Manhattan suburb of New York, according to his wife, actor Rochelle Bostrom, who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kevin Dillon, an actor from Entourage who also lives in New York, was one of the people who honored McCaffrey on social media. “#rip James McCaffrey, we were privileged to have known you,” he captioned a picture of the two on Instagram on Sunday.

Throughout his 35-year career, McCaffrey appeared in movies and television shows, including Blue Bloods and Suits. During the seven-season run of the FX drama Rescue Me, which concluded in 2011, he played a New York City firefighter who was murdered on September 11 and made an appearance to Denis Leary’s firefighting main character.
During the early 2000s, McCaffrey was also well-known for providing the voice of Max Payne, a former NYPD officer who turns vigilante when his family is murdered in a video game series of the same name.
Elliot stated in a statement, “Having trained at the Actor’s Studio, he never lost his love for creating characters; however, his good looks often pushed him toward leading man roles.”
In addition to his spouse, McCaffrey leaves behind his daughter Tiernan McCaffrey and further relatives.
