Television actress Mahhi Vij publicly condemned online trolls for their insensitive remarks and baseless dating rumours, expressing outrage over the lack of empathy shown during her difficult period.
Instagram became the platform where she shared a video, in which she launched a strong attack on those linking her to Nadim Nadz following her divorce from actor Jay Bhanushali.
Speaking to her followers, Mahhi said many people had advised her to ignore the controversy, but she felt compelled to respond due to the disrespect being shown.
Explaining the situation, she clarified that Nadim is her best friend and has been part of her life for over six years.
Adding context, she noted that her daughter Tara has been calling him ‘Abba’ for the same duration, a decision she and Jay had mutually taken. You have made the word Abba so disgusting, she stated, adding that people were stooping to unacceptable levels while she was already navigating emotional distress.
Continuing her message, Mahhi expressed outrage over derogatory comments made about her and Nadim, whom she described as a godfather figure not just in her life but in the lives of many who respect him.
Pointing out the absurdity of the attacks, she highlighted that people commonly express love towards friends and siblings without ulterior motives.
Revealing another concern, she noted that many of the offensive comments came from fake accounts, suggesting an organised attempt to tarnish her image.
Issuing a warning, Mahhi stated that karma would eventually catch up with those spreading negativity.
Reaffirms Bond with Nadim
Reaffirming her bond, she said Nadim remains a close and valued part of her life and her extended circle, including Jay’s friends.
Declaring her stance, she made it clear that she would not stay silent in the face of character assassination, emphasising that she would stand up for herself against baseless allegations.
Ending her statement, Mahhi condemned the cheap nature of online trolling and defended the purity of her relationship with her best friend.
Insisting on respect, she emphasised that attacking a woman without knowing the truth reflects poorly on those spreading such hatred.
