Kangana Ranaut Steps Into Battleground Of Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Hold First Roadshow In Mandi

Kangana Ranaut, Bollywood actress who is now a BJP candidate fighting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2024 from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh held her first roadshow in the constituency. It came as her first step towards to the seat the Parliament.

Nonetheless, Mandi people welcomed the actress with open arms. There was a huge gathering in the roadshow. “You can see the large gathering here. A lot of people have come here. They are all proud that the daughter of Mandi, the nationalist voice from Mandi will represent the constituency in this election,” said the Mandi candidate before her roadshow.

Congress state President Pratibha Singh has thrown down the gauntlet, expressing her readiness to contest from the Mandi seat, previously won by Kangana Ranaut in a 2021 bypoll. Singh stated her willingness to go head-to-head against Ranaut, pending direction from the Congress’s top leadership.

“If they finalize my name, I will go to the field to fight the elections. I have visited almost all areas as an MP in the constituency. It’s fine that the BJP has given their candidate. During the meeting yesterday, I was told that I am the best candidate for the party from Mandi, as I had visited all areas of the constituency in Mandi. They have suggested my name and I have told them to take up the matter with High Command, and I will follow the directions of the party leadership” Pratibha Singh said.

In Himachal Pradesh, there are four Lok Sabha seats: Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged victorious in all four seats. The upcoming elections on June 1 will cover the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh, as well as polls for six assembly constituencies, left vacant due to the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs.
