Shah Rukh Khan stated, “I don’t have any competition,” in a previous interview with Rajeev Masand. These sentiments still ring true today as his most recent movie, Jawan, breaks box office records. Following its historic debut, Jawan is currently the third Bollywood movie to earn more than Rs 300 crore in India in 2023.

The movie brought in an amazing Rs 30 crore on Monday, boosting its total domestic take to a staggering Rs 316.16 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. On Monday, Jawan had a respectable 17.38% occupancy in Hindi-speaking areas, 13.72% in Tamil-speaking areas, and 16.75% in Telugu-speaking areas.

Notably, the movie became the largest single-day grosser in Bollywood history on Sunday after grossing Rs 81 crore, breaking a previous record. This record was previously held by SRK’s Pathaan, which made Rs 70.50 crore (with Hindi collections at Rs 68 crore) on the second day of release, which fell on January 26, a holiday.

According to Sacnilk, Jawan also has the distinction of being the Bollywood film to cross the Rs 500 crore mark at the international box office the fastest. The movie has made almost Rs 530 crore worldwide as of Sunday.
