The fourth day of ‘Jaanta Raja’, a grand theatrical production dedicated to the service initiatives of Divya Prem Sewa Mission, Haridwar, drew record crowds.
The Suncity venue echoed with chants of ‘Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji’ as Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inspired the audience, particularly the youth.
Prominent attendees included Patanjali Ayurveda chief Acharya Balkrishna, Shri Dudheshwar Nath Math’s Shri Mahant Narayan Giri Ji Maharaj and representatives of religious and social organisations.
Divya Prem Sewa Mission president Dr Ashish Gautam highlighted Ghaziabad’s historical connection with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He said the strong public response reflected the enduring influence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals.
According to Dr Gautam, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj visited Shri Dudheshwar Nath Math in Ghaziabad in 1666 after escaping Aurangzeb’s captivity in Agra. He performed religious rituals there and resolved to establish Hindavi Swarajya, a vision realised with his coronation on 6 June 1674.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla recalled his association with Divya Prem Sewa Mission, which began on 12 January 1997, when Dr Gautam initiated efforts to serve people affected by leprosy and other disadvantaged communities.
The Governor urged audiences to learn Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s history, watch the production with their families and share their experiences on social media. He acknowledged Padma Vibhushan Babasaheb Purandare, whose inspiration helped bring the production to the stage in the 1980s.
Acharya Balkrishna encouraged audiences to incorporate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s teachings into their lives and experience the production with spiritual awareness.
Uttar Pradesh BJP vice-president Kameshwar Singh, former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, organising committee president Dr Rajesh Kumar Gupta and Divya Prem Sewa Mission executive president Dr Sanjay Chaturvedi attended.
Thousands of spectators and media representatives, including the Bharat Express team, witnessed the performance.
