The grand theatrical production Jaanta Raja, based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, will be staged at Suncity, Ghaziabad, from October 22 to 28.
Divya Prem Sewa Mission, Haridwar, is organising the seven-day event, with Bharat Express News Network as the media partner.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the inauguration as chief guest, while Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, head of the Juna Akhara, will bless the ceremony. RSS All India Contact Chief Ramlal Ji will attend as a distinguished guest.
Dr Ashish Gautam, president of Divya Prem Sewa Mission, said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj visited Shri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Math in Ghaziabad after escaping the captivity of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in the 17th century. He said this historical association prompted the Mission to choose Ghaziabad for the production.
Dr Gautam emphasised the importance of introducing young people to Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals and the teachings of Mata Jijabai and Samarth Guru Ramdas.
Performances will begin daily at 04:30 PM and last around four hours. Approximately 250 artists will recreate historical scenes featuring elephants, horses, camels, cannons, swords and other weapons.
Replicas of Sinhagad, Pratapgad and Raigad forts will showcase Shivaji Maharaj’s leadership and military strategies.
The Mission aims to promote national consciousness and cultural pride through the production, which organisers have previously staged in Lucknow and Agra.
Daily Rudrabhishek rituals have been taking place at the venue’s Shiv Avtaran Mandapam since the beginning of Navratri and will continue until October 28.
Organisers expect around 15,000 visitors daily from Delhi-NCR and neighbouring states.
Preparations began in March 2026, with more than 300 meetings, seminars and conferences held across Delhi-NCR and Uttarakhand to promote the event.
