Ajay Devgn is reportedly entering television hosting with the latest season of the popular crime-based programme ‘Crime Patrol’.

According to a source, the actor has already recorded 15 episodes for the upcoming instalment of the long-running series.

The makers have yet to decide whether Devgn will remain the primary host throughout the season. Their decision will reportedly depend on audience feedback and the ratings generated by the episodes featuring the actor.

Actor Rajesh Tailang is also expected to appear as a presenter during the new season.

The production team has not finalised the number of episodes Tailang will handle.

Officials are likely to make that decision after gauging the response to Devgn’s episodes.

The addition of two actors signals a significant change in the presentation of the established crime franchise.

Devgn had already created speculation on Sunday after uploading an intriguing video on social media.

Devgn’s reported association with the programme comes after Anup Soni’s lengthy connection with the show.

Soni hosted ‘Crime Patrol’ for many years and became one of the most recognisable personalities associated with its investigative storytelling format. His distinctive presentation style helped establish a strong identity for the programme among Indian television audiences.

Devgn could bring a different screen presence to the crime series, supported by his previous portrayals of law-enforcement characters.

The actor has played police or investigative roles in films such as ‘Gangaajal’, ‘Singham’ and ‘Drishyam’. His experience portraying characters connected with crime and policing could provide a familiar element while he takes on the new hosting responsibility.
