Amitabh Bachchan, in a late-night entry on his personal blog, offered a brief yet poignant meditation on life, sharing behind-the-scenes photographs from the ongoing season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Alongside the images, the veteran actor wrote, “In the end life just becomes a series of still pictures.”

The line was left without further explanation, though it came soon after the death of his long-time friend and screen icon Dharmendra.

Dharmendra died on 24 November at the age of 89 and would have celebrated his 90th birthday on 8 December.

The two actors shared a celebrated on-screen partnership in classics such as Sholay (1975), Chupke Chupke (1975), The Burning Train (1980) and Naseeb (1981).

Following the news, Bachchan published an emotional tribute.

He described Dharmendra as ‘a valiant giant’ whose departure ‘left the arena’ silent, praising his generosity, modesty and the grounded charm he carried from his Punjabi roots.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote that despite the shifting tides of the film industry, Dharmendra remained unchanged, ‘his smile, his warmth’ consistently drawing people to him.

He further added that the atmosphere around them now felt ‘vacant’, calling the loss a void that would endure.

Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise, continues its run with Bachchan as host, a role he has held in all seasons except the third, which featured Shah Rukh Khan.
