The character of Karan Shergill was endearing and inspiring for a lot of people finding their purpose in life. Set in the year 1999, against the fictionalised backdrop of the Kargil war. The movie’s very real portrayal of the army and Hrithik’s character arc and its portrayal got a lot of positive attention. Preity Zinta is the female lead in the film.
Guzaarish
The Specially-Abled Magician
Directed by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film explores the concept of euthanasia or death by choice. This is probably Hrithik’s best work under the direction of the auteur director. He brought to life the character of a quadriplegic magician and is in a wheelchair for most part of the film. Hrithik Roshan who is known as a Greek God in Bollywood has a very nuanced performance in this film. The film also stars Aishwarya Rai and Aditya Roy Kapur.
Jodhaa Akbar
The Royal King
The film is a magnum opus from director Ashutosh Gowarikar. Hrithik Roshan looked every bit the royal king with his portrayal of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.
The film which is based on historical fiction also has Aishwarya Rai, as Jodha, the Rajput princess and love interest of Hrithik’s character in the film. The film has a larger than life production design with huge and lavish sets, costumes and the scale itself is huge. The lead pair were praised for their performances . Though the film has come under criticism for the unrealistic portrayal of Akbar who wasn’t as benevolent as the film portrays him to be.

The film was a big hit and Hrithik surprised everyone by portraying such a real life character. Krrish
The Superhero
The sci-fi franchise directed by Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan is the most successful Desi superhero story. The character of Krissh first made an appearance in Krrish 2 and reprised his role in Krrish 3. The character has been universally loved across generations, borders and is the best success story of an Indian superhero.
Hrithik with his agile body, looks and smile is every bit the part of Krrish. The human avatar of Krishna and the superhero avatar as Krissh both played by Hrithik have been loved by children and the box office too.
