Actress Mouni Roy has appealed for privacy after rumours surrounding her marriage to businessman Suraj Nambiar gathered momentum online.
Sharing a brief statement on social media, Mouni requested media organisations not to spread ‘false narratives’ and asked for space and privacy during the ongoing speculation.
Reports about trouble in the couple’s marriage surfaced earlier this week after social media users noticed that Mouni and Suraj had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Some reports further claimed that the two were already living separately.
As discussion around the issue intensified on Tuesday, Suraj’s Instagram account became inaccessible, displaying a message stating that the page was unavailable.
Reports also suggested that actor Disha Patani, a close friend of Mouni, had unfollowed Suraj before the account was deactivated.
Mouni and Suraj married in Goa in 2022 in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends. Their wedding included both Bengali and Malayali traditions.
On the work front, Mouni is part of filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming project The Wives alongside Sonali Kulkarni, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt and others. She will also likely appear in Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan and starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Sreeleela.
