The film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is performing strongly at the box office, while its devotional song ‘Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman’ has gained widespread attention on social media.
Sung by Bundelkhand-based singer Sunil Lodhi, the bhajan has brought the singer into the spotlight.
Sunil’s story has touched many people after they learned that he has been unable to see since childhood.
Now, the singer has received support from the film’s producer Anupriya Nagar, who has arranged medical assistance for his eyes.
Speaking to Sidharth Kannan, Anupriya revealed that Sunil used to sing on trains before getting an opportunity to lend his voice to the film. She praised his talent and said his voice has a distinctive quality that stands out even with minimal background music.
Anupriya recalled meeting Sunil at her office and recognising his talent. She further said that when she told him he had become an internet sensation, he responded humbly that the attention was not because of him but due to Lord Hanuman’s blessings.
Anupriya Nagar spoke about Sunil’s outlook towards life, saying that despite being visually impaired since childhood, he maintains strong faith in Lord Hanuman and does not complain about his circumstances.
The producer said Sunil recently met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who assured him of help with his eye treatment. She had promised to support him in seeking medical care.
Anupriya has arranged an eye specialist appointment for Sunil in Mumbai and hopes treatment can improve his vision.
