The conflict between actress-director Divya Khossla and Bollywood mogul Karan Johar continues to escalate after Divya accused Alia Bhatt, one of Karan’s protégés, of purchasing tickets to her own film, ‘Jigra,’ produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions.
On Sunday, the war of words unfolded on social media, with both parties exchanging pointed remarks without explicitly naming one another. Karan took to Instagram Stories, stating, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools.”
Divya quickly responded, sharing a quote on her own Instagram Stories: “Truth will always offend fools opposed to it.” Believing her message needed further amplification, she later added, “When you are shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence.” You will have no voice, no spine.”

Media reports indicate that Alia’s ‘Jigra’ earned ₹4.5 crore on its opening day in India.
Interestingly, both films share a similar jailbreak premise. In ‘Savi,’ Divya plays a character who breaks her husband out of prison, while in ‘Jigra,’ Alia’s character rescues her brother. Despite the thematic overlap, ‘Savi’ has underperformed, earning only ₹7.83 crore over two weeks before theaters replaced it with the more successful ‘Chandu Champion.’
Divya’s accusations against Alia may stem from competition with ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,’ which stars Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri and released alongside ‘Jigra.’ Bhushan Kumar, Divya’s husband, produced this film.
The ongoing feud could complicate negotiations for Bhushan, especially regarding the highly anticipated movie ‘Animal Park,’ which features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia’s husband in two versions.
As the situation unfolds, industry insiders are watching closely to see how this public spat will impact both filmmakers’ future projects and relationships in Bollywood.
