Chhattisgarh: Mumbai Police Arrest Man For Alleged Death Threat To Shah Rukh Khan

On Tuesday, Mumbai Police arrested a man from Chhattisgarh for allegedly threatening Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s life.

The police are interrogating the suspect, who remains in custody.

The threat was made last week when the Mumbai Police received an alarming phone call at the Bandra station, in which the caller not only threatened Shah Rukh Khan’s life but also demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

Following the receipt of the threat, the police launched an investigation and sent a team to Raipur to track down the individual.

However, the officials have not disclosed details regarding the suspect’s identity or the motive behind the threat.

This latest incident follows a troubling series of threats against Bollywood personalities.

In recent months, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have allegedly targeted actor Salman Khan with similar threats.

Earlier on 24 October, police arrested a man from Jamshedpur for allegedly sending a ransom demand of Rs 5 crore in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

This came shortly after a threat to Salman Khan, which led to a police investigation.

The threats against both the actors highlight the growing concerns over the safety of high-profile celebrities in the country.

Shah Rukh Khan & Salman Khan Under Enhanced Security

Both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have been under enhanced security for some time, with Salman Khan’s protection level upgraded to Y+ security after a shooting incident outside his Mumbai residence, Galaxy Apartments, in April.

The attack, which occurred on 14 April 2024, later linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Subsequent arrests revealed that gang members planned the attack, leading authorities to file charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Investigations into the shooting revealed that Anmol Vishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, played a crucial role in orchestrating the attack.

Vishnoi had reportedly given instructions to the shooters, providing them with details about the target and the execution of the plan.

The shooters received Rs 3 lakh for carrying out the attack, which was a failed attempt on Salman’s life.

The increasing threat to the safety of prominent figures in the film industry has raised alarm.

In October, another incident involving the Lawrence Bishnoi gang occurred when assailants shot former NCP politician Baba Siddique multiple times outside his son’s office in Bandra.

Siddique succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack.

The Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for his assassination, further intensifying fears of organized crime targeting public figures.
