This year has been an interesting year with super successful South indian films that found a pan -India audience.

On the other hand, bi- budget films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Samrat prithviraj, Heropanti 2, Shamshera, JayeshBhai Jordaar, Thank God all failed at the box office.

Top Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Singh, Ranveer Singh could not rescue the declining business of Bollywood films and the lack of audience love.

In the wake of this all is also the trend of Boycott Bollywood finding momentum with Netizens.

With the release of Shahrukh Khan’s new song ‘Besharam Rang’ from the movie Pathan, twitter is again abuzz .

One user posted “ Please see the reality of Bollywood gangs. They always show Hindus’ image in a negative way and don’t  respect our culture”.  With the hashtags Boycott Bollywood Completely, Boycott Bollywood Forever, Pathaan

Another user criticised Bollywood and its low standards

“From “Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment” to “Chaddi- Baniyan, Chaddi- Baniyan, Chaddi- Baniyan”. Bollywood indeed has come a long way. Before they reach to even lower level let’s Boycott Bollywood Completely, Boycott Pathan, Boycott Bollywood Forever.

Rajeev Gupta, CA and Analyst  wrote : “Boycott Bollywood Completely & Boycott Pathan  again trending on Twitter. Netizens have decided to Boycott Bollywood Forever since Bollywood is still busy in mocking hindu-culture and glorifiying  Islam, which is resulting in LoveJihad

Emotions associated with a community aside, users also gave a reality check to Bollywood which hasn’t fared so well. While South Indian cinema is making content-rich cinema and doing so successfully.

There is no doubt Bollywood needs to come out of its comfort zone and impress the audience for real. Just bikini clad women and superstar power with shoddy scripts won’t be acceptable.

It’s also clear that hurting sentiments of people is not going to be taken down lightly. If Bollywood wants to survive it must get customer-friendly and most definitely creative in its art and craft.
