Renowned singer Pankaj Udhas, known for his mesmerizing ghazals and notable contributions to Hindi cinema, has passed away at the age of 72. The sad news was confirmed by his daughter, Nayaab Udhas, who shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram announcing his demise on Monday, February 26. Pankaj Udhas breathed his last at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital around 11 am after battling a prolonged illness, reportedly cancer, which he was diagnosed with a few months ago.

Following the news, the late singer’s loved ones and members of the industry flooded social media with heartfelt tributes. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a condolence message on his official X, which was formerly Twitter, a while ago.
