The newlywed is currently living the good life after winning the Best Actress prize for Gangubai Kathiawadi at the 69th National Film Awards. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was one of the numerous B-town celebrities who sent her congratulations on receiving the coveted prize. The director believes he cannot, however, ask Alia to collaborate with him.

The director went on to say that because his films are low-budget, he cannot afford to hire stars like Alia Bhatt. The director declared, “I consider Alia to be among the top actors in the nation, and I always get in touch with her after seeing her work. But when I disagree with something she has done, I remain silent. If it doesn’t compromise my film’s budget and dynamics, I would like to work with her, but it also needs to come from the other side.

In addition, the director claimed that any actor who hesitates to work with him instantly withdraws. “Wishful thinking is not something I support. I don’t pursue actors repeatedly. If they instruct me to change the script, I do it, but most of the time, their reluctance is enough to convince me to back out. You can tell right away on the screen if their heart isn’t in it, he continued.
