Actor Ali Fazal is pushing the boundaries of physical and mental preparation for his role in the upcoming fantasy period drama series, Rakht Brahmand.
To achieve this, the actor, known for his diverse roles, has been preparing extensively for this challenging project.
Specifically, he has been growing his hair for over a year, while also dedicating 6-7 hours daily to rigorous training.
In addition to this, he has been immersing himself in old-school Indian martial arts to bring authenticity to his action sequences.
Intense Physical & Mental Training
In an interview, Ali Fazal opened up about the dedication involved in getting ready for this role. He went on to reveal that he has spent nearly 6-7 hours a day training for this project.
“The preparation has involved intense weight training to build the right physique, diction classes to perfect my speech, and diving deep into Indian martial arts to ensure that my action sequences look raw and authentic,” he shared.
This role, which demanded an immense physical and mental commitment, required Ali to push his body and mind to their limits.
However, he emphasizes that it’s been a rewarding journey.
His dedication to transforming his appearance, including growing his hair for over a year, is part of his deep commitment to immersing himself fully in the character.
A Transformative Role
Ali Fazal also spoke about his excitement to be a part of “Rakht Brahmand” and the significant transformation he underwent for the role.
“Signing Rakht Brahmand was an easy decision for me because it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. The depth, scale, and sheer vision of the project are incredible,” he said.
His commitment to the role went beyond just aesthetics, with the actor stating that growing his hair for over a year was a conscious choice to fully embrace the character’s world.
The physical demands were intense, but it was the mental journey that was most challenging.
Ali described the process as a journey of patience and dedication, emphasizing that the challenge was not just about changing his look but about embracing the essence of his character.
“It wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about ensuring that every detail felt real,” he said.
A Visionary Project
Raj & DK produce Rakht Brahmand, and Rahi Anil Barve directs it. Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Wamiqa Gabbi star in the series, which is set in a period fantasy world.
With shooting in full swing across Mumbai studios, Ali is excited for the audience to experience the unique look and depth of the story they’ve created.
