Dalip Tahil
A judgment was rendered in the 2018 hit-and-run case of actor Dalip Tahil. Due to his intoxicated driving and subsequent injuries to a woman, the Baazigar actor received a two-month prison sentence.
What happened?
A magistrate’s court declared Dalip Tahil guilty, according to a report, “relying on the evidence of the doctor who opined that the smell of the alcohol was found and pupils were dilated.” When the actor was arrested in 2018, he declined to provide the police with a sample of his blood for an alcohol test.
Two people on an autorickshaw were hurt when Dalip’s car crashed into it. He tried to escape, but the Ganesh Visarjan processions caused a traffic bottleneck. According to reports, the passengers confronted Dalip after catching up to his automobile. It is reported that he shoved them around and got into a fight. The police were called, and the actor was placed under arrest.
Police statements
The passengers were recognized as Gaurav Chugh, 22, and Jenita Gandhi, 21.
The force of the crash gave Ms. Gandhi a serious shock to her neck and back. As Mr. Chugh and Ms. Gandhi got off the autorickshaw, they noticed the automobile was attempting to drive away toward Santacruz. The street was congested because of Ganeshotsav immersion processions, making it impossible for the automobile to go very far, a Khar police officer told the Hindu.
Also circulated online was a picture of the actor standing in line at the police station.
As of yet, Dalip Tahil has not responded to his sentence. The actor’s humorous videos have helped him gain popularity on social media in the past few months.
