Reaffirming the ownership over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that POK belongs to India and “we will take it back”.
Addressing an election rally in UP’s Prayagraj, Shah asserted his thoughts.
Referring to Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remark, which had ignited a political row, Shah said, “Farooq Abdullah and Mani Shankar Aiyar say give respect to Pakistan because it has atom bomb”.
In a viral video clip, Aiyar was saying that India should respect Pakistan as it is a sovereign nation and engage with it as it also possesses the atom bomb.
While Aiyar claimed that the video was old and dredged up by the BJP as BJP’s election campaign is faltering, Congress disagreed with the remark made by Aiyar a few months ago.
“Rahul baba, today from the sacred land of Prayagraj I will say POK is ours, will remain ours, and we will take it back,” Shah went on to say.
Home Minister Amit Shah reached Prayagraj to canvass vote for BJP candidate Neeraj Tripathi.
The main fight on Allahabad constituency is between BJP’s Neeraj Tripathi, who is son of former Governor of West Bengal Keshri Nath and Ujjwal Ram Singh, Son of former Samajwadi leader and Rajya Sabha MP Reoti Raman Singh.
Speaking of the election trend, Shah claimed that the opposition has been Stamp out in the four phases of Lok Sabha elections.
Polling in Allahabad constituency will take place in the sixth phase of ongoing Lok Sabha polls on May 25.
