Mock Drill
New Delhi: Amid the increase in the COVID-19 alarm throughout the globe, the Indian Government included Bharat Biotech’s intranasal vaccine Incovacc as the boaster option to combat the fight against the Omicron new variant BF.7. According to the company, the intranasal nasal doses will be available from the fourth week of January, 2023. Rs 800 will be cost in the private market and Rs 325 for large government orders, Bharat Biotech stated.
Eligibility Criteria To Get Incovacc
Ahead the statement by the Bharat Biotech, Incovacc is available on the vaccine management portal CoWIN. The vaccine will be available as a mix-and-match, heterogeneous, booster dose. The company stated that those who have been received the first two dose of Covaxin or Covishield are also eligible to take Incovacc.
In a statement, Bharat Biotech’s Krishna Ella said, “We have achieved the goals we set for ourselves. We have developed two COVID vaccines from two different platforms with two different delivery systems. The vectored intranasal delivery platform gives us the capability for rapid product development, scale-up, easy and painless immunization during public health emergencies and pandemic.”
New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Witnessed Drill
To maintain the check on the preparedness in COVID-19 management, on Tuesday, several hospitals across the nation have carried out mock drills.
While witnessing the drill at Safdarjung hospital in Delhi, Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya said, “Clinical readiness at hospitals is crucial”. “The government as well as private hospitals are undertaking mock drills today. State Health Ministers are reviewing the drills in their respective states,” the union minister said.
Delhi Government Officials To Supervise Mock Drills
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had directed officials to take prior approval for procurement of essential items needed and inspect machines in all hospitals. He had asserted that they are self-sufficient in terms of oxygen availability and storage.
Delhi Health Secretary Amit Singhla chaired a meeting with all the District Magistrates on Sunday and directed them to visit all hospitals and prepare am inventory of beds and supplies available there, said the District Magistrate.
Officials said, “From Monday onwards, we are going to physically assess the situation at the government hospitals with regard to the availability of beds, oxygen cylinders, ventilators etc. These details will be available on a Delhi government portal for public viewing from Tuesday.”
Amidst the COVID-19 risk prevailing, the Corona virus Dashboard status will show “Real-Time Data” on the portal. Delhi Government has likely to launch a door-to-door drive to provide booster doses to vulnerable populations, said the officials.
