Sambandh Portal: Central Ministries Cross FY25 MSE Procurement Target By Wide Margin

Central ministries exceeded their MSE procurement target by over 94% in FY25, data from the MSME Ministry’s Sambandh portal showed.

Against a target of ₹47,676.88 crore, ministries with a minimum MSE procurement target of ₹100 crore bought goods and services worth ₹92,675 crore from micro and small enterprises (MSEs).

This marks a significant jump from FY24, when these ministries procured ₹73,800 crore worth of goods and services from MSEs.

Petroleum, Defence & Power Ministries Lead In Value

The petroleum & natural gas ministry topped the list with MSE procurement worth ₹31,304 crore. It was followed by the defence ministry at ₹13,039 crore and the power ministry at ₹11,584 crore.

However, not all ministries met their targets:

  • The finance ministry achieved only 58% of its target,
  • The health & family welfare ministry met just 19.60%, while
  • The department of space met a mere 2.30% of its MSE procurement target

Shipping Ministry Tops In Target Achievement

In percentage terms, the shipping ministry was the best performer. It exceeded its MSE procurement target by 300%.

The petroleum & natural gas ministry followed with a 173% achievement. The civil aviation ministry also performed strongly, exceeding its target by 148%.

These figures highlight the growing commitment of central ministries towards boosting MSE procurement.

The sharp increase also reflects the government’s emphasis on strengthening the MSE sector through active procurement participation.

The consistent rise in MSE procurement supports job creation and inclusive economic growth.

Ministries are expected to continue driving this upward trend in the current fiscal.
