A massive blood donation campaign organised by the Adani Foundation to mark Chairman Gautam Adani’s 63rd birthday on 24 June garnered overwhelming participation, resulting in the collection of 27,661 units of blood, an all-time high for the initiative.
This year’s figure surpassed the 25,282 units collected last year, reflecting growing volunteer involvement across the country.
The Adani Healthcare team led the coordination, with widespread support from the group’s employees and partners.
The donated blood, totalling around 11,100 litres, is estimated to aid over 83,000 patients through various components, including:
- Whole blood,
- PCV,
- Platelet concentrates,
- Plasma,
- FFP, Cryoprecipitate, and
- Albumin
Conducted simultaneously across 206 cities in 21 states and two Union Territories, the drive marks one of the largest efforts of its kind.
Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, extended her appreciation to contributors.
“I sincerely thank my Adani family for coming forward and making this act of service meaningful. Your generosity will touch countless lives,” she stated.
The campaign was held in collaboration with the Red Cross blood banks and government hospitals. Over 3,000 Adani Group professionals, including medical staff, data teams, and administrators, actively supported the initiative.
In a first, the initiative also reached an international scale, with donation camps at Colombo West International Terminal (Sri Lanka) and Dar es Salaam Port (Tanzania). Over 100 people took part in these global events, further extending the impact of the effort.
First launched in 2011, the blood donation drive has become an annual tradition, aligning with the group’s values rooted in ‘Seva hi Sadhana hai’ (Service is Worship). It reinforces Adani Foundation’s long-term commitment to community-driven development and healthcare access.
Currently active in 7,060 villages across 21 states, the Foundation reports a positive impact on 9.6 million lives through its various social welfare initiatives.
