Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024, heralding the eve of the main summit. The exhibition spans an extensive 2 lakh square metres, encompassing multiple halls at the Helipad Ground Exhibition Centre. With participation from 20 countries, the show commenced ahead of the tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister as well.
Arriving at the venue at 3 pm during his three-day visit to his home state, Modi toured the stalls alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other esteemed dignitaries. Notably, numerous students from local colleges gathered in large numbers to extend greetings to the Prime Minister and other officials during the inauguration.

Earlier in the day, Modi engaged with heads of states and senior officials from Mozambique, Timor-Leste at the Mahatma Gandhi Mandir, the venue slated to host the main summit. Additionally, he conducted meetings with global CEOs, including notable figures such as Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, Toshihiro Suzuki, senior officials from Deakin University, and Vincent Clerc of AP Moller Maersk.
The trade show is set to operate for business on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by accessibility to the general public for an additional two days. Participating countries including Australia, Tanzania, Morocco, Mozambique, South Korea, Thailand, Estonia, Bangladesh, Singapore, UAE, UK, Germany, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Russia, Rwanda, Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam will showcase their respective industries at the exhibition.

Featuring 1,000 exhibitors, particularly from the research sector, the show comprises 13 halls dedicated to an equal number of themes. These themes encompass various areas such as ‘Make in Gujarat’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. Noteworthy focus areas include women empowerment, MSME development, new technology, green and smart infrastructure, and sustainable energy.
