Lenovo Exports 12 Million Units From India; Plans AI-Driven Expansion

At Tech World India 2025, Lenovo announced that it had manufactured and exported 12 million units from India in the last calendar year. With this milestone, the company expects to exceed its target of doubling production. Lenovo projects a 40% increase in production capacity next year to meet growing domestic and export demand.

The company is focusing on AI-driven manufacturing, expanding R&D investment, and enhancing enterprise solutions from India. AI server manufacturing will commence this fiscal year at Lenovo’s Puducherry facility, strengthening India’s role in enterprise AI and cloud computing. Lenovo also collaborates with Dixon Technologies for production.

AI-Driven Manufacturing And Local Production

Lenovo’s AI-first approach is reflected in its 71% year-on-year revenue growth in the first three quarters of FY 2024-25. The company’s ‘Made in India’ devices have reached ₹18,000 crore in CY2024, according to Lenovo India MD Shailendra Katyal.

At the event, Lenovo launched its first AI-ready PC under India’s PLI 2.0 policy. The company is also leveraging AI-powered logistics to enable four-hour delivery across eight Indian markets. Nearly all of Lenovo’s PC models will soon be manufactured in India, with 100% local production achieved for Motorola smartphones.

Innovations Unveiled At Tech World India & MWC 2025

Tech World India 2025 featured AI-powered innovations for enterprise adoption, digital infrastructure, and gaming. The Lenovo Faststart initiative showcased AI solutions designed to transform businesses and the sports industry.

At MWC 2025, Lenovo introduced the Yoga Solar PC, featuring a solar panel with a 24% energy conversion rate. The ThinkBook Flip debuted with a foldable OLED touchscreen, while the Magic Bay series introduced dual-display concepts. Lenovo also unveiled the ThinkPad X13 Gen 6, one of its lightest laptops.

With a workforce of 14,000 in India, Lenovo continues to drive AI innovations and expand its local production capabilities, reinforcing India’s role as a global tech hub.
