The Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers in a release on Monday said that Jan Aushadhi outlet sold medicines worth over 1255 crore rupees till November end 2024.
The pharmaceutical and Medical Bureau of India (PMBI) sold medicines of over 1255 crores through Jan Aushadhi outlets till November 30, 2024 resulting in saving of 5020 crore to the citizens in financial year 2024-25, the report said.

To enhance heath care accessibility and provide reasonable medicines to CAPFs, NSG & AR (MHA) Hospitals, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) sealed number of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Armed Police Forces, National Security Guard & Assam Rifles (CAPFs, NSG & AR) during the year, the release further highlighted.
Moreover, the Department of Pharmaceutical implemented schemes to firm pharmaceutical industry with a financial outlay of 500 crore.
The scheme aims to provide support to existing pharma clusters and MSMEs across the country to improve their productivity, quality and MSME clusters, it added.
