India’s Healthcare Sector Records 62% Growth; Driven By Tech & Inclusive Hiring

India’s healthcare sector is undergoing a remarkable transformation, witnessing a 62% year-on-year (YoY) surge in job growth in March 2025.

According to the latest Foundit Insights Tracker (fit) report, technological advancements, rising demand for medical services, and a shift toward patient-centric care are reshaping the industry.

Digital Health & AI Lead Demand

V Suresh, CEO of foundit, noted that India’s healthcare industry is entering a new era powered by technology and skilled talent.

“Our latest data highlights a sharp rise in demand for roles across AI, digital health, and informatics, reflecting a sector-wide pivot toward innovation and patient-centric care,” he said.

Building on this trend, the growing integration of AI and digital tools in healthcare services is fueling the surge in recruitment.

From telemedicine to predictive analytics, these advancements are transforming care delivery, making it faster, more accurate, and more accessible.

Moreover, remote diagnostics and digital health platforms are helping bridge the urban-rural healthcare divide, further expanding the sector’s reach and impact.

As the industry continues to evolve, the need for specialized talent in data science, informatics, and emerging technologies is only expected to grow, making healthcare one of the most dynamic and future-ready sectors in India.

Inclusive Hiring Gains Momentum

In parallel with rising demand, the sector is also making strides in promoting gender diversity and inclusion.

The report reveals that women make up 38% of the total workforce in healthcare — one of the highest among major industries in India.

However, despite this promising representation, men continue to dominate leadership roles in the healthcare sector.

Women currently occupy only 4% of executive positions, highlighting the need for stronger efforts toward equity in senior roles.

Report Methodology & Insights

The findings are part of the foundit Insights Tracker, a comprehensive monthly analysis of online job postings on the foundit.in platform.

The report captures evolving job market trends and offers a snapshot of sector-wise hiring activity across the country.

As India continues to digitize healthcare services and invest in infrastructure and innovation, the demand for skilled professionals in AI, data science, and health informatics is expected to grow.

At the same time, efforts to bridge the gender gap in leadership will be key to building a more inclusive and future-ready healthcare workforce.

The sector’s dual focus on technology and inclusion signals a transformative shift, making healthcare not just a critical service industry but also a dynamic employment generator for India’s growing workforce.
