Economic Growth

US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Chairman John Chambers predicted that India will surpass both China and the US in key economic metrics. He highlighted India’s rapid economic rise under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, projecting significantly higher GDP per capita growth for the country.

India to Lead Global Growth

Speaking at the USISPF Annual India Leadership Summit 2024 in New Delhi, Chambers forecasted that India’s GDP per capita income growth will be nearly 100% higher than China’s and 33% larger than the US in the near future. He attributed this progress to the strategic partnership between the US and India, which has strengthened under Modi’s leadership.

US-India Partnership to Drive Growth

Chambers reflected on his decade-long association with Modi, stating that early on, he saw the potential for India to achieve remarkable growth. He predicted that a closer US-India collaboration could accelerate India’s GDP growth by 2% annually and boost the US economy by 1%.

The summit also focused on enhancing bilateral trade, boosting supply chains, and fostering collaborations in technology, clean energy, and defence. It follows Prime Minister Modi’s successful visit to the US, further deepening ties between the two nations.
