Addressing officers at the Army War College (AWC) on Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh revealed that India has exported defence equipment of 21 thousand crore crossing the threshold of 20 thousand crore a decade ago.
Rajnath Singh was in more than two centuries-old Mhow Cantonment where he said that the target is to achieve Rs 50,000 crore by 2029, underscoring the need to master frontier technologies.
He noted that military training centres play a crucial role in equipping and readying soldiers to deal with future challenges.
Singh highlighted the accomplishment saying made-in-India equipment is being exported to other countries.

In his speech, Singh mentioned radical changes in warfare and said that unconventional methods like information warfare, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based warfare, proxy warfare, electromagnetic warfare, space warfare, and cyber-attacks are posing a big challenge.
Notably, the Minister is on a two-day visit to MP from Sunday. He highlighted the government’s commitment to making India a strong economic and defence power in the world.
“Our defence exports, which were around Rs 2,000 crore a decade ago, have crossed the record figure of Rs 21,000 crore today. We have set an export target of Rs 50,000 crore by 2029,” Singh said
The Defence Minister lauded the training centre, which is constantly improving its curriculum and making personnel fighting suitable for every challenge.
“In the times to come, the armed forces will be able to face challenges together in a better and more efficient way,” he added
Singh also elaborated that some officers from the training centre will work as defence attaches advising them to strive to secure national interest at global level.
The defence minister was also briefed upon the significant steps in training methodology through jointness in multi-domain operations, infusion of technology in training curriculum and exchange programmes being undertaken with academia, universities and industries along with training of CAPF officers, a release stated.
