
India has emerged as Adobe’s fastest-growing market in the Asia Pacific region and its second-largest operational hub globally, announced Prativa Mohapatra, Vice President and Managing Director of Adobe India, during the Adobe Summit India 2025 in Mumbai.
India Hosts Over 8,500 Of Adobe’s Global Workforce
Out of Adobe’s 30,000-strong global workforce, more than 8,500 employees are based in India.
The company currently operates four large campuses in Noida and Bengaluru, and maintains smaller offices in Mumbai and Gurugram.
Mohapatra revealed that Adobe will expand its presence further by setting up a third office in Noida by 2026.
Digital Services Across Key Industries Drive Growth
Adobe’s rapid business expansion in India has been fueled by its digital services across key sectors such as banking, financial services, airlines, consumer products, and automobiles.
Mohapatra highlighted how Adobe’s AI technologies have enabled immersive use cases like virtual test drives for cars, offering a complete digital customer journey.
India Powers Over One-Third Of Adobe’s Global Innovations
India plays a crucial role in Adobe’s global innovation engine, contributing to the development and shipping of more than one-third of its flagship products.
Adobe categorises its offerings into three primary domains:
- Document Cloud (e.g., Acrobat),
- Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator),
- Experience Cloud, which uses AI to power intelligent marketing campaigns.
Adobe Builds On AI With Firefly & Acrobat Assistants
The company has introduced its own generative AI solutions, including Firefly AI for creative content like images, vectors, and videos, and Acrobat AI Assistant for document-related tasks.
The India team played a pivotal role in developing Firefly, according to Mohapatra.
In addition to its proprietary models, Adobe has collaborated with tech giants like OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Microsoft (Copilot) to expand its AI capabilities.
“Interoperability of AI models is going to be super important,” Mohapatra stated, stressing the importance of seamless transitions between different AI tools for users.
She added, “Today, it’s all about interoperable models… one model and the other model are shaking hands.”
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen Lauds India’s Creative Potential
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, during his recent visit to India, underlined the country’s shift from software development to a creativity-led economic boom.
He emphasised that over one billion people have used Adobe software, empowering a new generation of creators.
“We will support Prime Minister Narendra Modi in making India the world’s creativity capital,” Narayen declared.
