Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday reflected on his early struggles, saying the millions of young people working at the group’s project sites across India remind him of his own journey as a teenager who left home in search of opportunities.
In a post on X, Gautam Adani said he sees his own story in young people who travel from different parts of the country to the group’s project sites while carrying dreams and aspirations.
Taking to X, the Adani Group Chairman posted, “From every corner of the country, when young people leave behind their homes, their families, arriving at our Project Sites with dreams in their eyes, I see my own journey reflected in them.”
Recalling his early years, Gautam Adani said he left home for Mumbai at the age of 16 and entered an unfamiliar city without the comfort of home-cooked meals, parental protection or a predetermined career path. He said his only strengths at the time were the courage to work hard and the willingness to learn something new every day.
The Adani Group Chairman said millions of young Indians now live away from their families while working towards a better future for themselves and the country. He said their determination and hard work reminded him of the challenges he faced during his early years.

The businessman shared his reflections as part of the second episode of ‘My Words, With My Loved Ones’, a series in which he discusses personal memories, experiences and lessons from his life.
Gautam Adani’s remarks highlighted the aspirations of young Indians who leave their hometowns and families in search of employment and opportunities, while contributing to projects and economic activity across the country.
