Governor Acharya Devvrat Inspires Adani Vidya Mandir Students With Call For Hard Work And Integrity

Gujarat Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat visited Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM), Ahmedabad, on Monday, delivering an uplifting message of perseverance, ethical living and self-discipline to the school’s students.

Welcomed by Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, and Trustee Mrs Shilin Adani, the Governor received a Guard of Honour and a traditional welcome from the pupils.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Devvrat said children who work hard from an early age, avoid harmful habits and move forward with determination open doors to limitless opportunities.

He emphasised that challenging backgrounds do not prevent success when effort and integrity lead the way, citing the journeys of Abraham Lincoln and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam as examples of leaders who rose above adversity.

Living Responsibly & Honestly

He urged students to live simply and responsibly, encouraging them to eat healthily, remain honest and make choices that avoid doubt, shame or fear.

Commending AVM’s unique model of free, values-driven education, the Governor praised the Adani Foundation for enabling underprivileged children to reach prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs and AIIMS.

This visit formed part of AVM’s Changemaker Series, which brings eminent personalities to share their life experiences. Past speakers include mathematics prodigy Nischal Narayana, actor-producer John Abraham, ISRO scientist Nilesh Desai, UNICEF Country Head Cynthia McCaffrey and IPS officer Safin Hasan.

Founded in 2008, AVM provides free holistic education, covering tuition, books, uniforms, meals, extracurricular activities and transport to first-generation learners.

The Adani Foundation operates four Adani Vidya Mandir schools across Ahmedabad, Bhadreshwar, Krishnapatnam and Surguja, blending academic excellence with ethics and social responsibility.

Since 1996, the Adani Foundation has been advancing education, health, livelihoods, climate action and community development, positively impacting 9.6 million people across 7,071 villages in 22 states.
