Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Thursday expressed firm backing for the Indian armed forces amid rising hostilities between India and Pakistan.
Taking to X, the Adani Group Chairman highlighted national unity and strength during challenging times.
“It is in times like these that the world witnesses the true strength and unity of India, forged as much in her sameness, as in her diversity. We stand in unwavering solidarity and are committed to supporting our armed forces as they defend the soul of our motherland and the spirit of our ideals,” he posted.
The Adani Group Chairman’s remarks followed India’s successful defence against a major aerial attack launched by Pakistan late Thursday.
The assault involved both drones and missiles targeting military facilities in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. It led to emergency measures and power outages across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
Authorities urged residents to remain indoors while the Indian armed forces responded with a combination of kinetic and non-kinetic measures.
The Integrated Defence Staff confirmed that all threats were neutralised.
No damage was reported at the military sites, and several drones near Jammu airport were intercepted and destroyed without any casualties.
Reports also indicated that eight missiles were shot down in the vicinity of Jammu.
In a significant countermeasure, Indian forces reportedly used a surface-to-air missile to bring down a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet. The aircraft had taken off from the Sargodha air base.
India responded with retaliatory strikes, destroying several Pakistani air defence positions, including a key installation in Lahore, according to sources.
Earlier, India had launched precision airstrikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The operation resulted in the elimination of nearly 100 militants.
Meanwhile, Pakistan initiated intense shelling in multiple border regions, including Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri. Indian troops successfully repelled these attacks.
