R Madhavan Voices Support For Peace Amidst India-Pakistan Conflict

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, actor R Madhavan has voiced his deep concern for those caught in the crossfire.

Posting on social media, Madhavan offered heartfelt prayers for the safety of civilians and expressed admiration for the Indian armed forces.

He called for peace and protection for the innocent, emphasising the need to honour the sacrifices of India’s brave defenders.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, the Kesari Chapter 2 actor wrote: “Salute to our armed forces. Jai Hind… May God protect them and all those that are innocent. Operation Sindoor.”

He captioned the post: “Jai Hind. It’s important to mark this date.”

Operation Sindoor Responds To Cross-Border Assaults

According to defence officials, the strikes occurred between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM and focused solely on terror infrastructure.

No civilian or Indian military casualties were reported in the operation.

Pakistan Targets Critical Locations

On 8 May, Pakistan retaliated by launching at least eight missiles aimed at key Indian positions in Jammu, including the strategic Jammu Airport at Satwari.

Indian air defence systems successfully intercepted the incoming projectiles, according to officials.

Pakistan’s military also conducted drone and weaponised attacks across India’s western border through the night, heightening regional instability.

Rising Civilian Toll Along The LoC

Over the past 14 days, Pakistan has intensified cross-border shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).

Officials confirmed that heavy artillery and mortar attacks killed 15 civilians and injured 59 others across Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor.

On 8 May, one Indian Army soldier lost his life in the ongoing hostilities.

In Poonch, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that 13 civilians were killed and 44 others wounded during ceasefire violations.

Film Industry Pays Tribute To Armed Forces

Several leading figures from India’s film industry also took to social media to salute the bravery of the Indian armed forces.

Among them were Chiranjeevi Konidela, Raveena Tandon, Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Mahesh Babu, Nimrat Kaur, Kangana Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood, Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, and Vidya Balan.

Their collective tributes praised the discipline, courage, and strategic execution of the Indian military during the high-risk operation.
