Facebook Co-founder Accuses Tesla of Misleading Practices, Draws Parallels to Enron Scandal

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, a vocal critic of Tesla, has recently likened the Elon Musk-led company to the infamous Enron scandal of the early 2000s.

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, a vocal critic of Tesla, has recently likened the Elon Musk-led company to the infamous Enron scandal of the early 2000s. Enron, a major energy corporation, infamously collapsed in 2001 amidst revelations of fraudulent accounting practices and misrepresentation of revenue sources, resulting in bankruptcy and legal repercussions for its executives.

Moskovitz’s accusations against Tesla focus on allegations of widespread consumer deception regarding the company’s Full-Self Driving (FSD) software and vehicle range claims. While specific evidence for these claims was not provided, Moskovitz referenced Tesla’s own data to suggest manipulative practices in showcasing increased software usage.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to Moskovitz’s criticisms with personal attacks on social media, escalating the confrontation. Despite the heated exchange, legal actions against Tesla regarding alleged deception have either been settled or not found legally actionable.

In parallel, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration continues its investigation into Tesla’s Autopilot system, particularly scrutinizing a recent software update aimed at addressing safety concerns. This ongoing inquiry reflects broader concerns about the appropriate use and efficacy of autonomous driving technologies.
