Emcure Pharmaceuticals Receives USFDA Form 483 With Seven Observations

Emcure Pharmaceuticals on Saturday said the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has issued a Form 483 with seven observations following a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection at its formulations manufacturing facility in Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Inspectors conducted the inspection between May 6 and May 15, 2026, at the company’s facility located in the GIDC industrial area in Taluka-Sanand.

According to Emcure Pharmaceuticals, the observations raised by the US health regulator are procedural in nature.

The company stated that it is taking corrective measures to address the observations comprehensively and will submit its response within the stipulated timeline prescribed by the regulator.

USFDA norms generally require companies to respond to Form 483 observations within 15 days.

What Is Form 483?

A Form 483 is issued by USFDA inspectors after an inspection if conditions or practices are observed that may constitute deviations from cGMP regulations. Inspectors discuss the observations with the company during the closing conference.

The issuance of a Form 483 does not represent a final conclusion regarding a facility’s compliance status.

The regulatory development came alongside strong quarterly earnings reported by the company.

Emcure Pharmaceuticals posted a 29 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 243 crore, compared to Rs 189 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations increased 16.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,469.7 crore from Rs 2,116.2 crore, supported by growth across major markets.

EBITDA rose 19.2 per cent to Rs 479.5 crore, while EBITDA margins improved to 19.4 per cent from 19 per cent a year ago.

The company’s international business remained the primary growth driver, with revenue rising 25.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,493 crore due to expansion in the base business and new product launches.

Shares of Emcure Pharmaceuticals closed Friday’s session at Rs 1,702.30 on the BSE, up 1.73 per cent.
