In a bid to revolutionize the media landscape, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has urged users of the X platform to embrace long-form article posting, opening the door for citizen journalism to flourish.

Since Musk’s call to action, a wave of users has taken to X, penning full-length articles, marking a significant step in the platform’s evolution as it vies with established media giants.

Expressing gratitude, one user exclaimed, “I just published my first X Article! Thank you @elonmusk for creating a platform for citizen journalism,” to which Musk responded with a resounding call, “Publish full-length, complex articles on X!”

The initiative has garnered praise from the community, with one user chiming in, “Great idea! Engaging content on X will attract more readers.”

This move isn’t new for Musk. Last September, he embarked on a tour of the US-Mexico border, livestreaming the experience and advocating for citizen journalism on X.

“Please encourage more citizen journalism! You can do live video easily from your phone. More on-the-ground reporting from regular citizens will change the world,” Musk had previously posted.

In addition to empowering individual users, Musk has invited journalists to contribute directly to X, offering enhanced earning opportunities.

He’s also made X an open-source platform, further democratizing access to news dissemination.

Meanwhile, Musk has unveiled plans for XWire, a news distribution service aimed at disrupting traditional platforms by prioritizing company PR news and press releases.

With Musk’s vision, X aims to become the go-to destination for breaking news and authentic journalism, challenging the status quo in media dissemination.
