The Adani Foundation has expanded its Swabhimaan initiative to Madhya Pradesh, opening a new Adani Vikas Kendra in Badarwas, Shivpuri district.
The centre aims to provide structured livelihood opportunities to women, enabling them to earn stable incomes close to home.
Led by Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, the programme seeks to connect one million women nationwide with sustainable employment. It focuses on transitioning women from irregular, informal work to consistent, market-linked income streams.
Spread across 48,000 square feet, the facility integrates training and production. It houses 600 advanced sewing machines, offering hands-on skill development alongside direct employment opportunities.
As operations scale, the initiative will enable nearly 1,500 women to earn steady incomes and improve their financial security.
Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the centre. Over 5,000 women from surrounding villages attended the event, reflecting strong grassroots participation.
Scindia highlighted that the initiative transforms aspirations into tangible economic outcomes and enables local products to reach broader markets.
The Foundation’s CEO, Abhishek Lakhtakia, stated that the initiative aligns with the vision of dignified income generation. He emphasised that linking skills with real market demand strengthens women’s financial independence and community roles.
The initiative is expected to boost household incomes, reduce reliance on informal labour, and curb migration pressures. It also enhances women’s participation in local economic systems.
Since 1996, the Foundation has impacted over 13.3 million lives across 22 states.
As it approaches its 30th anniversary, it continues to prioritise inclusive and sustainable development across India.
