Adani Foundation Chairperson Dr Priti Adani on Monday said the Adani Group was undertaking large-scale infrastructure projects to address India’s key challenges and support the country’s vision of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Addressing the World Symposium on ‘Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges’ in Varanasi, Dr Priti Adani highlighted persistent issues such as poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy and limited last-mile access to essential services, including electricity. She stressed that businesses must play an active role in tackling these challenges and contributing to India’s long-term development.
Drawing on India’s traditional knowledge, the Adani Foundation Chairperson emphasised the need to integrate sustainability into business operations and place collective responsibility above individual interests.
Citing yoga as an example of India’s ancient wisdom, Dr Priti Adani said its global recognition demonstrated the relevance of traditional practices in modern life. She referred to millets, highlighting their renewed importance in discussions on nutrition, climate resilience and food security.
Highlighting the group’s sustainability commitments, Dr Priti Adani said the Adani Group had committed more than $100 billion towards energy-transition infrastructure. She particularly cited the renewable energy project at Khavda in Gujarat, describing it as the world’s largest renewable energy park, with a planned generation capacity of 30 GW through solar and wind power.
Emphasising the need for practical action, the Adani Foundation Chairperson said sustainability should not remain limited to corporate reports but must become an integral part of business operations. She highlighted the importance of large-scale infrastructure investment, renewable energy and sustainable business practices in supporting India’s development goals and advancing the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047.
