Apple’s India Sales Hit Record $9 Billion In FY25; Opens New Stores In Bengaluru And Pune

Apple’s annual sales in India hit nearly $9 billion in FY25, Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The figure shows a 13% jump from about $8 billion in the previous year. The rise highlights strong demand for Apple’s flagship devices in the country.

According to the report, iPhones made up most of Apple’s India sales in FY25. MacBook demand also rose sharply. The strong performance gives a lift to the US tech giant as global device sales slow.

Meanwhile, Apple is steadily expanding its retail footprint in India. The company sees India as a key market.

The push comes as Apple faces weak demand and stiff competition in China, its largest overseas market. Notably, China’s sales grew just 4.4% in the June quarter after two years of decline.

This week, Apple opened two new stores in Bengaluru and Pune. More outlets are planned in Noida, near Delhi, and in Mumbai early next year. CEO Tim Cook announced the openings on Thursday.

With this launch, Apple now has four official stores in India.

Tim Cook Unveils Plans for New Apple Stores

Cook unveiled Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune. These stores join Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in Delhi.

Taking to X, he posted, “Say hello to Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune! We are thrilled to continue to bring the best of Apple to customers across India at these two new stores.”

Earlier, Apple had launched its online store in India in 2020. In 2023, Cook inaugurated the first two physical outlets in Mumbai and Delhi. Since then, Apple has added more premium resellers to widen its reach.

Today, India ranks as Apple’s fourth-largest market after the US, China, and Japan. In addition, the country has become vital to Apple’s manufacturing plans. One in five iPhones now comes from India.

Production has spread across five factories, including two newly opened plants. This shift reflects Apple’s strategy to cut reliance on China as a manufacturing hub.
