Apple In Talks With Wipro And LMW To Expand Supply Chain In India

Apple is in talks with Wipro Enterprises and Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) to onboard them as suppliers for its Indian supply chain.

This move reflects Apple’s push to strengthen its presence in India, according to The Economic Times (ET).

A source said Apple is in advanced discussions with Wipro Enterprises and in early-stage talks with LMW.

Both companies may supply parts and components for Apple’s supply chain.

Apple Expands Supplier Base In India

Apple has already partnered with Tata Group, Motherson Group, Aequs, and Bharat Forge for its supply chain.

Now, adding Wipro and LMW will help Apple reduce logistical risks and lower operational costs.

Dhruv Shekhar, senior associate at Koan Advisory Group, said Apple’s strategy will enhance supply chain resilience. He added that Apple’s partnerships with Indian suppliers signal a deeper commitment to the Indian market.

By working with local suppliers, Apple aims to cut supply chain costs and improve efficiency.

This shift reflects Apple’s effort to reduce dependence on China amid ongoing trade tensions.

The Indian government plans to introduce an incentive scheme for electronic components.
