Amazon Plans To Invest $12.7 Billion In Cloud Computing In India By 2030
Amazon Layoff : The world’s renowned e-commerce company Amazon (Amazon) has given a big blow to its employees. According to the information received, the company can once again lay off a large number of its employees. The special thing is that the number of layoffs that the company had said earlier, has now been increased to almost double. This information has been given by the CEO of the company himself. To reduce the cost of the company, retrenchment of about 18 thousand employees has been announced. According to the information received, earlier the company was about to lay off 10,000 employees, but now this figure may cross 18,000.
Andy Jesse, CEO of e-commerce company Amazon, has issued a note to his staff saying that amid the impact on business, retrenchment has become necessary to reduce the cost of the company. The employees who have been planned to be fired will start getting information about it from January 18. This retrenchment will be done up to about 6 percent of the total employees working in the company. Currently, Amazon has more than 3 lakh employees in its corporate workforce.
It Was Announced In November Itself
Laying off employees is not a new thing. The company had announced layoffs in November 2022 itself but at that time no definite number was given. Sources said that then the company was about to lay off 10,000 employees. But now the company has decided to increase this figure to almost double and from this month the affected employees will start getting information about it.
