The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has said the resolution of the legal matter involving Adani Enterprises removes a major distraction from the growing India-US economic partnership and could encourage fresh Indian investments in the United States.
USISPF President and CEO Dr Mukesh Aghi said the closure of the case would help strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
His remarks came after the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control announced a 275 million settlement with Adani Enterprises Limited over alleged Iran sanctions-related violations.
According to Aghi, the Adani Group’s proposed investments in the United States reflect the growing interest of Indian companies in expanding their presence in the American market. He noted that Adani Enterprises’ planned investment of 10 billion dollars aligns with recent announcements that Indian firms are expected to invest more than 20.5 billion dollars across various sectors in the US.
Aghi said Indian businesses increasingly view the United States as a long-term strategic and economic partner. He added that such investments would support job creation, strengthen infrastructure and contribute to long-term economic growth in both countries.
The USISPF Chief also highlighted that Indian investments in the United States continue to grow steadily across infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy and technology sectors.
India and the US have strengthened cooperation in trade, defence, technology and energy over the past decade.
Indian companies continue to expand investments in the US, boosting business ties and employment opportunities.
USISPF said the resolution of the Adani matter could improve investor confidence and further strengthen India-US economic relations.
