Adani Ports Crosses 500 Million Tonnes Cargo Milestone; Targets 1 Billion By 2030

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) on Wednesday announced that it has surpassed the landmark milestone of 500 million tonnes of cargo handled, marking a significant achievement in its growth journey.

From its beginnings as a single port initiative in 1998, APSEZ has expanded into a vast network spanning 19 ports and terminals across India and overseas, emerging as a key driver of the country’s trade, industrial progress, and global competitiveness.

Chairman Gautam Adani described the milestone as a reflection of collective effort, stating that ports serve not just as trade gateways but as symbols of national confidence and growth. He expressed gratitude to customers, partners, employees, and government authorities for their continued support in building a strong infrastructure foundation.

This achievement represents a defining moment in APSEZ’s evolution and highlights the increasing strength of India’s infrastructure-led transformation.

Beyond scale, it underscores the development of a world-class logistics platform driven by long-term vision, operational efficiency, and national purpose.

Adani noted that the milestone reflects sustained confidence in India’s growth story, emphasising that the company has built an integrated transport and logistics network connecting ports, railways, roads, warehouses, and cargo gateways. He added that both the company and the nation are poised for further growth.

The journey to 500 million tonnes highlights rapid scaling. After taking 16 years to reach 100 million tonnes, APSEZ accelerated growth, improving efficiency, resilience, and expansion.

APSEZ remains on track to handle one billion tonnes of cargo by 2030, while continuing to focus on world-class infrastructure and operational excellence. It currently operates a vast network of ports, terminals, and integrated logistics across India, supported by a marine fleet, warehouses, and trucking systems.
