The Adani Group has committed $100 billion to establish renewable-energy-powered, hyperscale data centres designed for artificial intelligence workloads by 2035.
The programme aims to develop a sovereign platform. It will integrate energy generation and advanced computing to position India as a global AI powerhouse.
The Group estimates that the initiative will stimulate an additional $150 billion in investments. It expects investments to flow across sectors such as server production, advanced electrical systems, sovereign cloud services, and ancillary industries.
These efforts are expected to build an AI infrastructure ecosystem worth $250 billion over the next decade.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said the world is experiencing a technological shift more significant than previous industrial transformations.
He emphasised, “The world is entering an Intelligence Revolution more profound than any previous Industrial Revolution.”
“Nations that master the symmetry between energy and compute will shape the next decade. India is uniquely positioned to lead,” the Adani Group Chairman added.
Scaling Up National Data Centre Capacity
The strategy expands on AdaniConnex’s current 2 GW nationwide data centre footprint, with plans to increase capacity to 5 GW. This scale-up is intended to place India at the centre of the global AI-driven economy.
Strategic partnerships with Google will support the expansion to develop a large-scale AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam and additional facilities in Noida. Collaboration with Microsoft will extend across Hyderabad and Pune.
Discussions are also underway with other leading technology firms to establish further AI campuses throughout India.
The Group also intends to enhance its collaboration with Flipkart by creating a second AI-focused data centre tailored to meet the demands of next-generation digital commerce, high-performance computing, and extensive AI applications.
The planned 5 GW network will integrate renewable power generation, transmission systems, and hyperscale AI computing into a single, coordinated infrastructure framework.
Through this long-term initiative, the Adani Group aims to build one of the most ambitious integrated energy and AI platforms ever undertaken at a national level, while inviting global technology partners and institutions to participate in shaping India’s advanced AI ecosystem.
