Adani Energy Solutions Limited Bags Rs 18,000-Crore Transmission Project; Posts Strong Q3 FY26 Performance

Adani Energy Solutions Limited announced a strong operational performance for the third quarter of FY26. The company highlighted the acquisition of a major transmission project valued at approximately Rs 18,000 crore.

The project significantly expands the company’s role in strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure.

The newly awarded KPS III (Khavda South Olpad) HVDC project will facilitate the evacuation of 2,500 MW of renewable power. It will transmit electricity from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat’s Kutch district to Olpad near Surat.

AESL said the project represents a critical step in enhancing long-distance green energy transmission and supporting India’s clean energy ambitions.

During the quarter, AESL also fully commissioned the North Karanpura Transmission Line, adding nearly 300 circuit kilometres to its operational network.

With this milestone, the company expanded its total transmission network to 27,901 circuit kilometres, while its transformation capacity increased to 1,18,175 MVA.

The company reported that its transmission order book surged to Rs 77,787 crore, reflecting sustained momentum in securing large-scale infrastructure projects.

AESL also delivered notable improvements in its power distribution business, where distribution losses declined to 4.22 per cent in YTD FY26 from 4.91 per cent a year earlier.

Supply reliability remained exceptionally high, with the Average Supply Availability Index at 99.998 per cent. Key system reliability indicators, including SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI, also showed consistent improvement.

In Mumbai’s distribution circle, AESL recorded electricity sales of 2,487 million units during the quarter.

While this marked a marginal year-on-year decline, collection efficiency remained robust at 101.75 per cent.

Mumbai Utilities Limited delivered strong growth, with unit sales rising 57 per cent year-on-year to 371 million units.

AESL also accelerated progress in smart metering. The company installed 18.88 lakh smart meters during the quarter, taking its total installed base to 92.5 lakh.

Based on its current execution speed, AESL expects to surpass one crore cumulative smart meter installations by the end of FY26.

The company supports this target with a smart metering order book of 2.46 crore meters.
