Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited has once again secured the foremost position in India’s utility rankings, reaffirming its leadership for the second successive year with a score of 92.5.

The recognition emerges from the latest Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) and Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD), issued by the Ministry of Power in collaboration with REC Limited.

The evaluation covered 66 power distribution utilities nationwide and reflected a sector-wide transition towards performance-oriented operations.

Improvements in efficiency, fiscal discipline, and consumer-centric service delivery have become increasingly evident across the industry.

Adani Electricity attained an A+ grade in consumer service, driven by dependable supply, precise billing mechanisms, and responsive grievance redressal systems. These metrics underscore a consistent focus on execution and customer satisfaction.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kandarp Patel stated that retaining the premier rank signifies operational discipline and public trust.

He emphasised that the recognition reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering uninterrupted, resilient, and efficient electricity services across Mumbai.

Sector Sees Performance Shift

The broader sector demonstrated notable advancement, with consumer service ratings improving across utilities. Six entities achieved A+ status, while none were placed in the lowest performance category, indicating convergence in operational standards.

Adani Electricity delivers strong performance through financial discipline, adequate resources, efficient planning, and advanced digital metering.

The rankings also highlighted a competitive landscape, with both private and state-owned entities performing strongly.

Key performers included Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited and Noida Power Company Limited.

Other leading utilities included Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking

The assessment highlighted three trends: converging performance, growing digitalisation, and consumer experience as the key differentiators.
