Adani Defence Hands Over 2nd Drishti-10 Drone To Indian Navy To Enhance Maritime Security

Adani Defence and Aerospace has handed over a second Drishti-10 Starliner surveillance drone to the Indian Navy. This move boosts the country’s maritime surveillance capabilities. The Drishti-10 drone, an advanced ISR platform, offers 36 hours of endurance and a 450-kg payload capacity.

Drishti-10 Starliner Drone Enhances Navy Operations

Manufactured by Adani Defence and Aerospace in Hyderabad, the Drishti-10 Starliner is based on the Israeli Hermes 900 UAV. The Induction process of second drone into Navy was conducted at Porbandar, Gujarat. The first Drishti-10 drone was delivered earlier this year.

This drone marks India’s first integration of advanced payload suites onto a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV. It operates at altitudes between 10,000 to 30,000 feet, giving the Navy enhanced surveillance capabilities.

Unique Features of Drishti-10 Starliner

The Drishti-10 Starliner is the only UAV with NATO ‘STANAG 4671’ certification, allowing it to operate in NATO airspace. It features four hard points on its wings and a large internal bay for special missions. It also offers SATCOM-based, over-the-horizon surveillance with fully autonomous capabilities.

Earlier, Adani Defence delivered the Drishti-10 Starliner to the Indian Army in June. The Army will deploy the Drishti-10 at the Bhatinda base in Punjab to monitor the western border with Pakistan.

Adani Defence is India’s first private UAV manufacturer and continues to lead the domestic defence ecosystem. It is also the first private player in small arms and ammunition manufacturing in India.
