Kutch Copper Limited (KCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, has received London Metal Exchange (LME) registration for its ‘Adani Copper’ Grade-A cathodes.

The approval allows Adani Copper cathodes to be delivered against LME Copper futures contracts, with warrants becoming eligible for issuance from 10 July 2026.

The certification from the world’s leading industrial metals exchange recognises KCL’s manufacturing excellence and responsible sourcing practices, demonstrating compliance with stringent international quality standards.

The LME registration places Adani Copper alongside some of the world’s most recognised copper brands, enhancing the company’s international credibility and strengthening its position as a competitive producer of refined copper.

Dr Vinay Prakash, CEO – Natural Resources at Adani Enterprises and Managing Director of Kutch Copper Limited, said the recognition reinforces India’s growing role in the global copper supply chain. He added that the certification would improve worldwide acceptance of Adani Copper while supporting the country’s objective of achieving greater self-reliance in refined copper production.

Kutch Copper operates one of the world’s largest single-location custom copper smelters at Mundra, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity of 0.5 million tonnes.

Developed with advanced automation and sustainability-focused technology, the facility manufactures high-quality Copper Grade-A cathodes for both domestic and international markets.

The company said the project will help reduce India’s dependence on imported refined copper while supporting sectors such as renewable energy, electrification and clean energy infrastructure.

Strategic Significance

The LME certification allows approved LME warehouses to store Adani Copper cathodes, providing greater financing flexibility because the market recognises the metal as a highly liquid asset.

The listing further expands the exchange’s global supply network by introducing high-quality copper from a major new production hub.

The milestone aligns with the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and positioning India as an increasingly important player in the global metals industry.
