Jupiter: Quadruple Moon Surprise from GURU

Jupiter closest to earth with its four biggest moons

Jupiter came closest to Earth in 70 years!  People also saw 4 moons

Jupiter being the largest planet in our solar system, has always surprised and impressed scientists. Those who were interested in the events in the sky were surprised at that time, they saw this gas giant planet very close to four moons.

Many people also saw this sight with the help of binoculars. On Twitter, people shared pictures of Jupiter with the four largest moons Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

Andrew McCarthy, a resident of Arizona in the US, tweeted that he spent a long time looking up at the sky to capture the pictures. He told that in the last 59 years this planet has come closest to the Earth.

Alok Kumar, Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, tweeted that Jupiter is very bright. He is clearly visible even among the clouds and his 3 moons were also visible. Some people took pictures of Jupiter with high-end camera smartphones, while others spotted it with large telescopes.

Despite of being the closest planet to each other, there was a distance of 365 million miles between them. When Jupiter is farthest from Earth, there is a distance of 600 million miles between the two. Jupiter has 53 moons, but scientists believe that a total of 79 moons have been detected so far.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has been orbiting Jupiter for 6 years and is engaged in exploring the planet’s surface as well as its moons. Scientists believe that studying Jupiter can give important information about the formation of the solar system.

A few days ago, the US space agency (NASA), told it was said that on September 26, the planet Jupiter is going to come closest to the Earth after 70 years. NASA had said that if we look from the surface of the earth, then any celestial object or any planet comes in the opposite direction when it rises in the east. In such a situation, any celestial object or planet that came in the east appears in the opposite direction of the sun.

Jupiter comes in the opposite direction of the sun every 13 months. Due to this it looks bigger and brighter. But this time the incident was different, because Jupiter was not only in the opposite direction but it was also closest to the Earth.
