The schedule modifications for the 2023 ODI World Cup (WC 2023), which will take place in India in October–November, were officially announced by the ICC on Wednesday. The duel between cricket’s top governing body and archrivals India and Pakistan will now take place on October 14 rather than the previously scheduled October 15. The dates of India’s two games have been changed, while three of Pakistan’s and England’s matches will be rescheduled (either in terms of time or date).
Modifications in WC 2023
The India vs. Pakistan game will now take place on October 16, the first day of the Hindu festival of Navratri, despite the security services’ declared inability to provide necessary security.
The final league encounter between India and the Netherlands, which was initially slated for November 12 but will now take place on November 11 in Bengaluru, is the other game that has been postponed.

The match between England and Afghanistan in New Delhi will now take place on Sunday, October 15, rather than the originally scheduled date of Saturday, October 14.
PAK vs. Sri Lanka
Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka, originally slated to be played in Hyderabad on October 11, will now take place on October 10. This is because Pakistan has to have enough time to prepare for the India encounter.
England will now play Bangladesh in a daytime match beginning at 10.30 a.m. on the same day that the two teams were originally slated to play a day-night game at Dharmsala.
In the same vein, the highly anticipated England-Pakistan non-India game that was originally planned for November 12 will instead take place on November 11.
The game between New Zealand and Bangladesh, originally scheduled as a day match for October 14 in Chennai, has been pushed back and will now be held on Friday, October 13, which will be a day-night match. Falling on November 12, Kali Puja is the second biggest Hindu festival for Bengalis after Durga Puja, and the Kolkata Police had expressed concerns about providing an adequate deployment for the game.
